Thank you for your interest in Rachel B. Noel Middle School. Our school is located in Far Northeast Denver and serves over 200 eighth grade students. Our school is committed to challenging students academically, setting high expectations, and preparing them for high school and beyond.
During the summer of 2010, Denver Public Schools was awarded $14.4 million in federal funds to turn around the district’s lowest performing schools. Rachel B. Noel Middle School was awarded $2.4 million, or $800,527 per year for three years, to ensure its students are performing at the same level of students throughout the district. The funding was allocated through a Tiered Intervention Grant (TIG) from the Colorado Department of Education. You can learn more about the grant by visiting the DPS School Turnaround Page.
As part of this grant and its corresponding transformation plan, Rachel B. Noel implemented a number of positive changes to support student achievement over the past two years. Specifically, we created a new school day schedule that maximizes instructional time, invested in professional development, and formed small student learning advisories throughout the school. If you would like to stop by and take a tour of our school this year, please come in so you can experience these changes for yourself. Tours must be scheduled in advance. Please contact our Communications Specialist, Laura Baity, at 720-424-0807 for more information.
