8th Grade Continuation, May 24 – Mark Your Calendars!

8th Grade Continuation, May 24th 10 am to 12 pm!

8th grade students your Continuation is only two months away! But wait, before you leave us and head off to high school, we want to honor you and celebrate your middle school years as a Rachel B. Noel Cobra! Your teachers have been hard at work planning what is sure to be an amazing and memorable Continuation ceremony and we would our 8th grade students to get involved in the ceremony as well.

First, a talented 8th grade student will be chosen to sing at Continuation. Your assistant principal, Ms. Chandler, will be holding auditions at the end of April. If you are interested in trying out for this honor, you must sign up in the main office by April 20th. Please bring a cd with a song of your choosing to auditions, which will be held the week of the 23rd. All songs must contain appropriate, clean lyrics.

Second, the Rachel B. Noel leadership team will be choosing a student from the 8th grade class to speak at Continuation. Interested students must write a two-minute speech reflecting on your middle school years and Rachel B. Noel’s legacy. Please sign up in the main office with Ms. Campos and you will be given additional details about when to turn in your speech and when final decisions will be made and announced.

Noel Beacon’s Neighborhood Center

RBN is excited to welcome our Noel Beacon Neighborhood Center’s (NBNC) new program coordinator – Ron Harris! Ron is a Denver native with strong roots in the DPS and greater Denver community. He is a graduate of George Washington high school, and served five years as the site coordinator for a non-profit organization at Columbine Elementary School in the near northeast region of DPS before coming to the Noel Beacon center.

“I am so excited to be here at Noel and to have the opportunity to work with you and your children! My goal is to provide a program that enriches and supports students by offering a variety of after school activities that engage students and cater to their academic, artistic and athletic interests.”  – Ron Harris, NBNC Program Coordinator
